Better than the movie, as is typically the case. Dark and definitely violent, but not surprising if you've read other works by this author.

Cover imageConfessions of a Shopaholic

by Sophie Kinsella

Although the character is easy to identify with at times and detestable at others, this book is a fairly good light chic lit read.

Cover imagePs , I Love You

by Cecelia Ahern

A good selection if you enjoy chic lit. The author also happens to be the daughter of the prime minister of Ireland, so her publication was not surprising. She is able to generate most of the the characters with humor and youthful wit; I definitely smiled at some anecdotes. However, there is some lack of depth at times with character development. Overall, a fun read.
