Guide to groups

The Revish Groups are a place where everyone on the site can congregate to discuss books, reading, or anything else that takes your fancy. These guidelines are provided to help you to understand what is expected of all members of the Revish community. These guidelines are provided in addition to the Revish Terms and Conditions, which apply to all users.

The basics

  • Post in the appropriate group.
  • If no group exists for the topic you want to post about, create one.
  • Create groups in the appropriate category.
  • Don't post in all capital letters. IT'S A BIT SHOUTY.
  • Only link to websites that are relevant to your post. That means no spam, no personal links, no standard footers.

Have fun!

The groups should be about having fun, learning, or experiencing some other positive benefit.

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice

Please be responsible and respectful when participating in the Revish Groups. Everyone here is different, and you're going to discover people who have a different view of the world than you, and believe different things to you. Tolerance is our watchword here.

Moderate your own behaviour (or we'll do it for you)

You are solely responsible for the content you post on the groups, so please think carefully before posting anything potentially offensive, inflammatory or defamatory. If you're stopping anyone else from enjoying the groups then you're doing something wrong. If we think you've failed in your responsibility we reserve the right to restrict your access to the groups or to suspend your Revish account.

Don't use the groups for commercial purposes

Don't post advertisements, links to commercial websites or any other commercial material. We don't like banning people.

If you'd like to see a group for commercial posts related to the publishing world please let us know and we'll add one.

Don't be creepy.

You know the guy. Don't be that guy. (Yes, we stole this one from Flickr.)
